Middle School Debate Nationals-San Antonio Texas

So I was a chaperone for Eric's middle school debate team. Nationals took place in San Antonio Texas. I had no idea what to expect but in the end this turned out to be a FANTASTIC trip. The kids were awesome and the tournament was quite interesting. I am so happy that I joined them on this trip. Congrats to : Laura-Ann, Makenna, David, & Brendan!!!!! :-)

Hooray for Eric's Cactus

So, when I moved in with Eric about a year ago...I pretty much got rid of everything inside and outside his house. My bro Louie was over helping me clean up the patio. When lou asked me about a specific cactus that was tipped over and in pretty bad shape. I told him to dump it. Soon after, Eric arrived and saw the pieces of cactus sticking out of the dumpster, and asked what had happened. While I was telling him about how I told Louie to chop the cactus into pieces and toss it in the trash...Eric's face said it all. He was sad...mad...and crushed. Apparently, he really loved that cactus (mental note....never order the execution of a cactus). He then went on and on about how he had been growing the cactus for years, he dug the remains of the cactus out and put it back on the patio. We really didn't know if it was going to survive but believe it or not....it recovered and even bloomed a beautiful flower. Hooray for Eric's cactus!
